Our Coaching
Philosophy
Since starting Total Intensity Sports in 2000, our philosophy has always been the same.  In order to produce the best results for the athlete, a coaching program must be personalized.  We recognize that every athlete is unique - no two athletes are alike.

Since every athlete we coach is different, each program we design must be different.  Absolutely NO two programs are the same.  Our programs aren't simply copied from one athlete to the next and we don't have "standard" programs to get you to "do your first triathlon in 16 weeks or less!".  They simply don't work.  Each program we develop is specifically tailored to the athlete based on their current fitness level, available training time and personal goals.

Each athlete is unique... each program is unique.

That said, Total Intensity Sports provides athletes of all ages and levels the highest level of personal coaching. Whether you are a runner, swimmer, cyclist, mountain biker or triathlete, we will take you to a higher level!  Our athletes range from beginners to Age Group Champions to National Champions. They train smart and with intensity!

Overview/Rates

Our training programs are designed for athletes interested in receiving additional attention and personalized coaching.  We have options for 6, 9 and 12 months in duration as well as discounted rates for one-on-one sessions and the additional testing and evaluations we offer.  Although we recommend frequent one-on-one sessions with your coach, as well as performing certain testing and evaluations, we leave these as options in order to provide you with a great deal of flexibility to find the type of program that will fit for your individual situation and needs.   

If you are outside of the Sacramento region, we also have online coaching options.

  Initial Month - $280, Monthly Rate $160

One-on-one Session Rates (paid prior to initial session):
  1 Sessions - $75

Program Details

Our individual training is for athletes interested in receiving additional attention and personalized coaching. Our training is flexible so you can arrange the program to fit your individual needs.

Your Individual Training Program will start with a one-on-one initial consultation with your coach. Your coach begins this session by reviewing your completed health and fitness evaluation to determine your exercise and fitness experience, determine your current fitness level and assist in developing a your personal training program.

Next, your coach will review in detail your completed prior year review and goal assessment to determine what goals your training program will be focused on achieving. Finally, together with your coach, your personalized program template will be designed. This template outlines your daily training regimen, taking into consideration your available training time, training history to date and personal goals.

Your program begins with bi-weekly workout schedules for you to follow and includes a complete strength conditioning program. On a monthly basis, your coach will contact you for a progress review. This helps maintain communication with your coach throughout your training, although, you will have unlimited contact with your coach.

You should feel free to voice any concerns you might have, ask questions regarding equipment, your daily routine, or anything else that might be on your mind. We are here for you! We will actively participate throughout your program – motivating, supporting and encouraging you along the way!
